Sensitive and intelligent, Caliph was a loyal, highly affectionate, and attentive creature, willing, if necessary, to battle for his immediate family. This included protecting all two-leggeds and the farm’s other critters: sheep, chickens, etc. as well as Pasha.
Unless alarmed by perceived trouble, he was a gentle, calm spirit—as in impressionist painting calm. His well-behaved manner made him an excellent host, greeting all with a bright welcoming doggie smile.
He will be remembered for the enormity of his love, his faithful companionship, and the serenity that seemed to float around him.
He will be missed.

About the piece: An image transfer of Caliph, placed on a birch panel, is surrounded in part by a mandala of soft, serene colors. This is meant to mimic his magical ability to bring tranquility to the room. Acrylics applied with dotting tools ensure the precision, uniform size, and placement of the radiating pulses of stillness.
