Skittles was certainly one of the most entertaining cats. He’d swat at windows, run from his own tail, and, oh yea, he tried to talk. He did a pretty good job too, managing to call. “mmmmmooooooommmm” when the lady came home.
His sister Maggie was his partner in fun — usually seen paving the way for new adventures — like opening curtains. Hey, when you’re an indoor cat, you need to get your entertainment when and however you can.
They lived a wonderful life, with plenty of merrymaking whenever they could. They were loved and are missed.

About the piece: This piece was recreated after Skittles died. The panel was scraped down leaving a subtle mysterious undertone. Mom’s recurring memories of one of Hashida Shunsou’s “Nihonga” style cats brought these two images together. Shunsou’s cat seems to blend into the background, hauntingly and protectively looking over Skittles.
