Love you, I will

Harrison is a reminder that we live in a most magical world, filled with remarkable mysteries. His purpose is to mingle amongst us and bring us together, no matter our differences, histories, wherewithal.

It all began in what seems a long time ago.

As Obi-Wan said, “There’s no such thing as luck.” He belonged to his two-legged before they even met because he drew her to him from across the continent. They locked, and she came running. In that “before time” he was already working his magic, uniting family members with the common goal of bringing Harrison to his new home.

Perhaps he is so comfortable uniting others, because he spent his first months surrounded by exotic animals and birds.  Seriously, when you’ve strutted next to Peacocks, there’s really nothing odd about insisting this is one big universe and we all have a place in it, right?

The secret to his unifying superpowers start with the eyes. Yes, his deep, dark eyes are the window to his soul and his soul is the lamp of his body.  Yet, they also transport you elsewhere.  To places where we share a common humanity and there’s more the same about us than different.

Quietly, they whisper, “Be mine, you must, love you I will.”

About the piece:  A unified, light acrylic warm pallet surrounds Harrison.  Snippets of collage bring depth and texture. On closer inspection little peoples and critters from another world pop through reminding him of his mission to find our common bonds.  A travel poster from Tatooine boasts the double moons reminding him of his roots far, far away.
