Was it the bat ears, the single tooth or the Hanging Tongue Syndrome?  No matter…Wallace’s two-leggeds were smitten at first sight.  It was Muttville who set up the initial video introduction.  They decided immediately this chill, cuddle-craving, quiet, senior dog would be the perfect couch-companion for their older dog Rolo.

PSYCH!

Turns out, Wallace is more Greyhound than Chihuahua allowing his long, powerful legs to keep him running, jumping and chasing down new adventures anywhere and anytime.  His spunky, loyal and quirky nature won his family’s heart and Rolo’s loving tolerance. He fit in like a pair of well-worn slippers.

No one has a back story on Wallace.  He was a street dog in bad shape found around the Potrero neighborhood.  Because of his capacity to give love, he must have been loved at some point.  But clearly, his previous owners could not care for him.  By the time he was rescued, his teeth were so bad, they had to remove all but one tooth.  But leave it to this tenacious, smart, charismatic critter, the remaining one shines like a beacon of strength ruling over the hearts of all who pass him.

About the piece:  If Wallace were human, he’d wear a sleeveless sweater vest, argyle socks and of course The Wrong Trousers. This nod to the beloved character is accented with painterly details over image transfers with a color pallet to capture the 70s vibe of his hilarious, timely, adoring self.
